Female hair loss can be embarrassing, and many women will often feel that they are out of control of their own health. However, thanks to research, doctors now know that there are many ways that women can lose their hair. Most of the time, women will grow their hair back, so therapies as extreme as hair transplants or steroid injections into the scalp will not be necessary.
Hair loss can often happen when women are not receiving the proper nutrition. This may be due to weaknesses in one’s diet, such as when women eat only one part of the traditional dietary food groups in extremely large amounts while excluding other important dietary food groups. This may also happen when women eat very little or do not eat at all, perhaps due to stress or some other underlying physiological or psychological disorder. In these cases, hair loss may be stopped or thinning hair may be improved through vitamin treatment.
In some cases, women may experience hair loss because they lack iron in their diets. The levels of iron in the body may then be restored through taking iron supplements. Also important in helping care for hair is the antioxidant Vitamin E. Women will usually take Vitamin E supplements in order to keep their skin firm, but this Vitamin also contributes to other important bodily functions. Lastly, of course, there are hair loss vitamins that are being marketed and are being sold with claims that have not yet been completely verified by scientific research, you may want to talk to your doctor about these supplements.
