There have been lots of myths and theories being told about female hair loss. I have heard so many of them through the years. Some say that female hair loss is caused by wearing tight wigs and hats, over using extra strong hair products, and so on and so forth. The sad thing though, there is no solid fact that explains why hair loss happens all of a sudden, unlike hair loss caused by medication, chemotherapy, medication side effects, and unbalanced hormones. Changes in hormone levels due to the menopause and pregnancy are probably the most common causes facing a large percentage of women
The tough part is fighting an unknown nemesis. If you don’t know what you’re fighting against, you don’t what weapon you will need. And since in hair loss, there are several theories as to what causes them, it is hard to have a fool proof method of preventing it from happening.
For women that haven’t experienced hair loss yet, preventing it would come in the form of proper care and maintenance. If your family is predisposed to having hair loss, then you may be able to make use of some of the female hair loss prevention products being sold presently. There are shampoos and hair care products which provides nutrients to the hair, scalp and hair follicles to prevent them from weakening and stopping hair production.
For those who have noticed that their hair is already starting to thin out, preventing further damage may be done by applying topical medication prescribed by your doctor to promote hair growth. Make sure though that the product you use is recommended by your doctor to ensure that you are safe.
